Blank Page after entering registration code

Fantastic to have these modules. Thank you for all the development.
I have followed the set up for Registration Codes, set up a code... logout and select "Register Now". I enter the code as requested and press submit. Then I get a blank screen (register.php in the url).

Help

Thanks

RE: Blank Page after entering registration co

Hi there, sorry to hear about this.

Please turn on PHP debug in the System Admin->Preferences area, and then post here with what it says on the screen after you submit the registration code.

Without more info, my best guess is that you have upgraded from an earlier version of registration codes and/or formulize and not completed the patching process so your database is out of wack with the code.

RE: Blank Page after entering registration co

Thanks for replying. Thats the thing. I have turned on debug, and I get nothing... blank screen and no debug statements (using latest version of XOOPS... although didn't work with the last version either).

If I have done, what you say, what should I do to rectify the matter... Download everything again ?.... in any particular order etc...

Thanks for any help you can give me

RE: Blank Page after entering registration co

Ahh... I just noticed the patch instruction. Missed it with both registration codes and formulize.

When I do run them, I get the following errors :

Registration Code Patch
-------------------------
Error adding instant and redirect fields to DB.
SQL dump: ALTER TABLE xoops_reg_codes ADD reg_codes_instant tinyint(1)

Formulize Code Patch
---------------------
Error patching DB for Formulize 2.1. SQL dump:
SELECT * FROM xoops_form LIMIT 0,1
Please contact Freeform Solutions for assistance.

Thanks for your help

RE: Blank Page after entering registration code

Ok.. forget above message. I installed XOOPS from scratch... and the modules registration codes and formulize from scratch, (not an upgrade) and so don't need to do the patch21 stuff cos the database is already showing reg_code_instant etc.

Sorry I can't give you any more details... no debug info

GOT IT

Sorry about all that. I re-did everything about 5 times... and for some reason it now works.... thank you

Juls

YIPPEEEE!!!!

RE: Blank Page after entering registration co

Hey, in case anyone else has this problem, I had it too and found out it was because I hadn't set up a custom form. I think the system doesn't give access to the original xoops form or something, so only when I had someone go into webmaster group would the next form come up.

Anyway, so if you're having this problem and haven't customised the registration form, do that and maybe that will help.

RE: Blank Page after entering registration code

I had it coming up with the registration page then I made a change (dont know exactly where) and now I get a blank page. I tried a reinstall of xoops 2.0.13.2 and I may have installed in the incorrect order? I dont know but I still get a blank page.

I may have removed a test form I cant really recall... Any assistance here would be fabby.. :)

Brian

RE: Blank Page after entering registration code

BTW Before I forget, FANTASTIC MODULE!!!! Is there some file privileges that need changing that I may have missed in the instructions?

RE: Blank Page after entering registration code

OK, Here si what I am trying.... I am now going from memory the original order I did it in and also re-reading the docs I printed out.

** ALL REFERENCES ARE TO THE 2.1 README AND INSTALL NOTES **

1 Fresh install of 2.0.13.2 (yes it is an old version, but want to make sure it works)
2 load up modules - Formulize, iMenu, Pageworks and Regcodes (in that order)
3 Change permissions on formulize's export folder (as per step 2 in install instructions)
** This above step may have led to my demise **
4 Install the two core patches (aka step 3 in instructions)
** SO FAR SO GOOD **
5 Added the <{$calendarjs}> (as per latter part of step 3 in instructions)
** NOTE MAKE SURE IT IS "AFTER" the between and
6 Installed in this order in sys admin - modules: -
-Formulize - installed ok
-iMenu - installed ok
-PageWorks - installed ok
-Regcodes - installed ok
7 set order for formulize to 0 (zero) and submitted - seems ok
8 Copied across core patches for regcodes and removed folder
9 Completed an update in the sysadmin-modules for regcodes - all still ok
10 Checked the edit user page against another installation of 2.0.13.2 and it is definately the regcodes edition
11 go to sysadmin and select the regcodes and give admin priv to create codes for all groups and then submit - did not touch the preferences
12 NOTE I did not change the registered users permissions as per step 1 in configuring the regcodes module (regcodes 2.1 readme page 4)
13 create a rego code to test which was set to create account instantly and created a second to fill in the rego form (everything else left at default, ie no expiry etc)
** After going over this for many hours... CAFFEINE IS MY FRIEND **
** ESPECIALLY AFTER STUFFING IT UP IN THE FIRST PLACE **
** SO TAKE A BREAK FOR A MINUTE, this will still be here when you get back... **
14 Create a new form as per the formulize 2.1 readme and given permissions as per the regcodes readme pg6 and also made form menu visable on all pages and all groups have access to forms module as per pg3 of the formulize readme

** I MAY HAVE LOST 1 or 2 steps as I tried to post and only had this in my clip board.... :(

basically I got it working I eventually figured out my problem was I deleted my test form (silly me).

I think the rest of the instructions from pg 6 of the reg codes read me from the second half of step 1 al the way through to step 4 as long as you follow them pedantically you will get it also.

If I did miss a step it should not be hard to work out... and hey post it here if I did miss a step.

Regards
Brian

RE: Blank Page after entering registration code

ONE LAST NOTE... YOU MUST DO step 4 on page 6 of the regcodes readme... otherwise I dont think the rego form works... that seems to be the biggest problem and when I removed my form it stuffed that section as it had no rego page to show. (well that is what I think, if not hey I got it working now...)

RE: Blank Page after entering registration co

Thanks for posting all that Brian! I'm sure it will be much appreciated by others who run into trouble.

RE: Blank Page after entering registration code

Well it is kinda funny, it actually helped me by typing it out as I went and re-reading the instructions.... It was the only way I got it to work... :)
